Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the downloader. For a deeper look at audio quality and the MP3 vs WAV question, read our audio quality guide.
Is this BeatStars downloader free to use?
Yes, completely free. No hidden fees, no subscription tiers, no premium plan required. The tool works the same for everyone.
Do I need to create an account?
No account, no email, no personal information required. Paste a BeatStars link and download — that's it.
What audio quality will I get?
You get 320kbps MP3 — the highest bitrate BeatStars streams to browsers. We capture the same audio your browser plays when you press play on BeatStars, without re-compressing or altering it. This is the same bitrate Spotify Premium uses.
Can I download as WAV?
Yes — after your MP3 downloads, a 'Save as WAV' button appears. This converts the 320kbps MP3 to a WAV file in your browser, which some DAWs handle better than MP3. It's a format change for compatibility, not a quality upgrade — the audio is the same. For a genuine lossless WAV from the original studio file, you'd need to purchase a WAV license from the producer on BeatStars.
Is there a daily download limit?
We operate on a fair-use basis to keep the service fast and available for everyone. Typical use — auditioning beats, building a reference library, writing sessions — is fine. If you're downloading hundreds of tracks in a single session, you may hit a soft limit.
Is it legal to download beats from BeatStars?
Free downloads are intended for personal, non-commercial use — private listening, practice, writing sessions, or auditioning beats before you buy. If you want to release a song commercially, perform it publicly, or monetize it in any way, you need to purchase the appropriate license from the producer on BeatStars. Our tool doesn't change what you're legally allowed to do with the audio.
Why doesn't my download start?
A few things to check: make sure you're using a direct BeatStars track URL (it should contain beatstars.com/beat/ or similar), not a playlist or profile page. Some tracks are restricted by the producer and can't be downloaded — if that's the case, you'll see an error. If the URL looks right and it's still failing, try copying it fresh from your browser's address bar rather than sharing links.
Does this work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The tool runs entirely in your browser — no app to install. It works on mobile Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and any other modern browser. On iOS, downloaded files go to your Files app; on Android, they go to your Downloads folder.
How is this different from other BeatStars downloaders?
The main difference is the URL trick: if you're already on a BeatStars track page, just type 'downloader' after 'beatstars' in the URL bar and press Enter — the download starts instantly. No copy-pasting required. We also don't require sign-up, show ads inside the tool, or add watermarks.
Do you store the tracks or my data?
No. We don't store the audio files, the URLs you submit, or any personal information. Downloads happen directly between our server and your browser. We collect anonymous analytics (page views, general traffic data) through Google Analytics — nothing that identifies you personally.
